About Sage & Spark Support Services - Our Story & Mission

Meet Your Doula

Hi there — I’m so glad you’re here. 💛

My name is Crimson Hammer, and I’m the birth worker behind Sage & Spark Support Services.

My journey into birth work began after the birth of my daughter in 2019. As I navigated the challenges and transitions of early parenthood, I found myself searching for support, guidance, and reassurance. During that time, I discovered the incredible role doulas play in supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum — and I immediately felt called to this work.

I completed my doula training just weeks before the start of COVID-19, which meant my early days as a doula looked a little different than expected. While navigating hospital precautions and changing birth environments, I continued supporting families however I could while dedicating countless hours to studying, learning, and deepening my understanding of birth and postpartum care.

Since then, I have expanded my training and certifications to provide well-rounded, evidence-based support to the families I serve. In addition to birth doula work, I am certified in childbirth education, postpartum and infant care doula support, and infant feeding education.

Most recently, I completed two service terms with AmeriCorps in partnership with the Sea Mar Community Health Centers Maternity Support Services team, where I had the privilege of working alongside and supporting more than 60 families during pregnancy and postpartum.

I’m also a mother of two, and my own experiences in parenthood continue to shape the compassionate care I provide to families. Outside of birth work, I love spending time with my family, crafting, adventuring, and camping whenever we can. Our home is also filled with plenty of love and chaos from our three dogs and our cat.

My approach to care is rooted in compassion, education, and empowerment. I believe every family deserves to feel informed, supported, and confident in the choices they make for themselves and their baby. My goal is to create a nurturing, nonjudgmental space where families feel heard, respected, and cared for every step of the way.

I would be honored to support you during this chapter of your journey.
